Scary Saturday – Feline Familiar

Cats have been considered to be magical creatures for hundreds of years. Small animals especially cats are believed to have a special connection with the spiritual world.

What happens when the furry friend that keeps your feet warm on a chilly night transforms into a creature that makes your blood run cold?

Tonight Yolanda shares an experience that she had when she was a little girl where her beloved kitty cat became an otherworldly messenger.

I want to thank Yolanda for sharing her paranormal experience with me. Be sure to check out Yolanda’s Yochet blog to see her amazing life size crochet doll among other whimsical and fun projects!

Feline Familiar or Spirit Messenger

Q: Did you experience this paranormal event or was this an occurrence that someone else experienced?

Yolanda: I experienced it.

Q: What type of paranormal event have you experienced (examples – spirits/ghosts, UFOs, monsters/weird creatures, etc)?

Yolanda: Not sure

Q: Have you experienced this phenomenon multiple times?

Yolanda: Just once

Q: Where did you experience your paranormal event?

Yolanda: In bed in the house I grew up in.

Q: Were you alone or did other people experience it too? If you were alone, have other people reported the same event in that location or during that time period?

Yolanda: I experienced this alone, although my brother was sleeping next to me.

Q: Please describe the details of your paranormal experience.

Yolanda: I was 12 or 13 years old and shared a room with my younger brother. We had watched a scary movie earlier in the day. I’m pretty sure it was called The Swarm and was about killer bees. At bedtime, he was really scared and couldn’t sleep so he begged me to let him sleep with me. I let him and we fell asleep.

I had a cat that slept in the room with us and when we went to bed, it was curled up at the edge of the bed by our feet. I was woken up by a voice whispering in my ear, “Yoli, look at the cat?” I thought it was my brother telling me to look at the cat for some reason. I asked why and he just repeated to look at the cat. So I looked down at the cat. It was standing sideways with it’s back arched, staring at me with shiny eyes. Something didn’t make sense about it but I couldn’t exactly say what. It didn’t look like my cat at all.

I pulled my head under the covers and asked my brother why he asked me to look at the cat. He was sound asleep. Didn’t look like he was awake at all. When I saw him asleep, I realized the voice didn’t sound like him at all. I was really scared but I worked up the courage to come out from under the covers and and look at the cat again. It was sound asleep too, curled up in a ball. It seemed totally normal. My heart was racing but everything seemed normal and serene. I tried to calm myself down and convince myself nothing happened but I just couldn’t. I mean, did that really happen? It felt very real…
