Scary Saturday – Haunted House

Whether you like to call it something that goes “bump” in the night, a playful poltergeist, or “it must be just the wind” there are some strange and scary happenings at Yolanda’s house.

This week we will hear the hair raising story about what happened one night at Yolanda’s house.

I want to thank Yolanda for sharing her scary experience with me. Be sure to check out Yolanda’s Yochet blog to see her amazing life size crochet doll among other whimsical and fun projects!

Haunted House – Poltergeist/Ghost

Q: Did you experience this paranormal event or was this an occurrence that someone else experienced?
haunted house 2Yolanda:
This was my experience.

Q: What type of paranormal event have you experienced (examples – spirits/ghosts, UFOs, monsters/weird creatures, etc)?

Yolanda: I think it was a ghost.

Q: Have you experienced this phenomenon multiple times?

Yolanda: I experienced this particular event just once but my husband has had similar experiences.

Q: Where did you experience your paranormal event?

Yolanda: At home.

Q: Were you alone or did other people experience it too? If you were alone, have other people reported the same event in that location or during that time period?

Yolanda: I was with my son and he experienced it too. My husband has had other experiences in our home.

Q: Please describe the details of your paranormal experience.

Yolanda: My son and I are were watching television upstairs in my bedroom. My husband was out and wasn’t expected home before we went to bed. While we were in my bed watching some show, we heard the garage door go up. It sounded like a car drove in. We looked at each other and said dad must be home. We then heard the door from the garage to the house open and close (it’s a pretty loud door with a spring that makes the door close with a bang. We heard foot steps come up the stairs, go down the hall and go into my husbands office.

Typically, my husband would go into his office first and drop off his things and then come say hello to us. My son and I waited for my husband to come say hi but he didn’t. A bit later, I went to go say hi myself but he wasn’t home. I went downstairs and checked the garage and no car. I went back upstairs and told my son that I guess we were hearing things. He didn’t give it another thought but I just gave a nod to our friendly ghost. I wasn’t scared nor felt any kind negative energy so I didn’t worry about it.

Q: Are there any other details or related information that contributed to this event or that you believe are related to it?

Yolanda: My husband often says he hears things that can’t be explained in our home. One time, he said the door to one of our bedrooms opened in way that couldn’t be explained: A way that it shouldn’t have been able to open without someone actually opening it. Stuff like this doesn’t happen all the time and we are never actually afraid of it. It just makes me smile when we do experience something like this because it seems like a friendly ghost that just wants to make it’s presence known.

    1. I think the key thing is that Yolanda says that they don’t feel any malevolence so that’s good. I’m not sure I could deal with even a friendly ghost though. Yolanda is a braver woman than I am. 😀

    1. NO WAY on going somewhere haunted!! You go and record it all and I’ll sit here and bravely post it! You certainly don’t want to be hanging around camping out in Ghostville with a woman that will pee in her pants all night!!! Yes I did change it – thanks! It looked too much like Knots and I wanted it to be different. 😀
