One of the things that has always fascinated me is the paranormal.
When I was a little girl I was absolutely positive that I had psychic powers. There were a lot of things that made me think this. Knowing that the phone was going to ring before it did has always been one of those things. One time looking at an old photo album with my mother we came across a black and white photo of a group of men in uniform. With their hats on and the yellowish tint that old black and white photos tend to get, they all looked the same. I pointed to one of the men out of the group of about 30 and said very matter of factly, “Grandpa Elmer looks so young there.”
My mother looked at me shocked. “How did you know that was Grandpa Elmer?”
I didn’t have an answer. I think I just shrugged in response. You see, I had never seen a picture of Grandpa Elmer before and he had died several years before I was born. There may be a logical explanation. Maybe I recognized a family resemblance. I’m not sure, but I know when my mother asked me how I knew it was him, I very distinctly remember the shudder and the hair at the back of my neck and on my arms raising with goosebumps.
I have never seen an apparition. I have felt a presence many, many times. I’ve seen shadows moving where it didn’t make sense.
Have you ever seen a ghost?
The paranormal is one of the threads in my life tapestry. I am now and have always been intrigued by the unusual. Ghosts, psychic powers, UFOs, monsters, and any other unexplained phenomenon. I am drawn to it like a moth to a flame.
Every Saturday I will turn all of the lights on in the house and share all of my Scary experiences with you.
And I want to know your stories too. The only thing more frightening than feeling a sudden chill in a warm room is believing that you are the only one that has felt that.
Tell me your stories. With your permission I will post them as part of Scary Saturday, along with a link to your profile or blog, or just an acknowledgment that it is your story. They can be about anything mysterious or unexplained. Other than editing for typos I will not change a thing.
If you would like to share your Scary Saturday stories please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org. I’m getting chills just imagining what creepy things you have all encountered.
Thanks for reading!
